For Youth's Interest or FYI is a group of teens that came together
to make a difference in our community. FYI has engaged in a variety of community service projects all over the county. Meetings are held every other week at the Atascadero City Annex. FYI provides teens with an opportunity to get involved any way they choose to.
Goals:
1. To Create a voice for the youth in the community
2. To have youth contribute design efforts in the New Recreation Center
3. To involve youth in planning events and activities for their peers in the upcoming Recreation Center
4. To develop more positive activities for youth and encourage participation
5. To provide youth with the opportunity to become a part of the teen prevention alliance

- Community Service Projects
1. Food drive for North County Food Bank
2. Tsunami Candy fund raiser
3. Surf rider Beach clean ups
4. Waste management recycle drive at the Mid-State Fair
5. Volunteering at the North County Humane Society
6. Volunteer counselors at the Lake Park Summer Camp
7. Creek clean ups
8. Volunteer work for the City of Atascadero
- Working with the City to help design the new Youth Center and the
associated Cafe.
